I strongly support the ALLIANCE’s manifesto as a whole.  We need to ensure that the right actions are taken to enable individuals not only to manage their own conditions but to have their lived experience and knowledge valued and to be involved as equals in the development of support, services and opportunities in communities across Scotland.  Equally there is clear evidence of the interaction between income and inequality, including poorer health outcomes.  It is therefore vital that, with new powers, Scotland delivers a social security system that supports the independence and social inclusion of individuals and unpaid carers and has dignity at its heart.
